Research Section:

The Scholarships Online Application research section of the department of medical genetics (www.umcutrecht.nl / genetics) focuses on identifying and understanding the genetic basis of human disease. There are several groups of researchers studying different illnesses such as schizophrenia, diabetes, congenital malformations and cardiovascular disorders. In our group, we use the next-generation sequencing state-of-the-art (NGS) technology. We were the first in Europe to apply the technology NGS SOLID AB, which now reads tens of billions of base pairs in a single run. Research in our group focuses on three aspects. i) The establishment, improvement and scale of the NGS application. Details Responsibilities:

Scholarships Online Application You will be responsible for the design and management of next generation sequencing projects in various areas of disease research and work closely with doctors at Children's Hospital (WKZ). You will be mining, analysis and visualization of sequence data and communicate with the doctors involved. Next, you will be involved in setting up an interface for interpretation, analysis routines and data communications NGS.
